1993 Ford Taurus Repair Window Switch
From WikituneUp - The Free Service Manual
The power window switch on a 1993 Ford Taurus provides push-button control of the power-window system for the Taurus's occupants. The switch closes the power window circuit, sending an electronic signal to the window motor. The window motor then turns a gear on the window regulator, which moves the window. The window switches are not repairable; however, you can purchase a new one for a small fee and install it in minutes if you have basic auto-repair skills.

[edit] Repair Window Switch
- Pry the Taurus's window switch/bezel assembly out of the door panel using your trim tool. The bezel is the plastic trim surrounding the power window switch, which is mounted in the door panel near the inner door handle.
- Pull the Taurus's door harness connector off the base of the window switch by hand.
- Plug the new switch into the Taurus's door harness by hand. Insert the switch into the mounting hole by hand and push it down until it snaps into place.
[edit] Tips & Warnings
- If your local Ford dealer does not have a replacement switch in stock, many auto parts stores offer aftermarket switches for a comparable price. If neither of those provides a switch you can purchase, try the local salvage yard.
