[edit] OBD-II Diagnostic Trouble Codes

OBD stands for On-Board Diagnostics. OBD-II is the industry standard and was introduced (and required) on 1996 vehicles and later. The below list is the standard diagnostic trouble codes (DTC) that is used by some manufacturers to show what problems a vehicle may be having, and also listed are some vehicle specific trouble codes.

NOTE: that these codes are the generic list and may not apply to some vehicles. Do not rely on the code unless you are certain that it applies to your vehicle.
